Keeping Residents of A Small Vibrant Town Connected and Engaged

Tillsonburg is a growing town in Ontario, Canada with a population of just over 18,000 residents. Located an easy drive from both London and Kitchener, Tillsonburg is a family-friendly community that offers an outstanding quality of life for all ages.

The town is known for having a strong sense of community amongst residents and a strong history of community engagement and collaboration. For a small town, it has a wide variety of recreation and leisure programs, services and facilities and offers many opportunities to be meaningfully involved in the community.

Residents love the town’s many parks, green spaces and trails as well as its arts and cultural amenities.

With all of the wonderful things happening in Tillsonburg, the town was looking for a way to improve its connection with residents and make sharing information easier. They decided it was time to invest in a mobile app and put out a request for proposal (RFP).

When Info Grove saw the town’s list of must-haves for their future mobile app, we knew we wanted to submit a proposal. Our mobile app platform designed specifically to meet the needs of towns and municipalities was a perfect solution for Tillsonburg.

The town was looking for a mobile app that:

  • Provided timely news, alerts and information to residents
  • Communicated concerns and service delivery problems
  • Opened up a two-way dialogue between Tillsonburg and its residents
  • Integrated with their website and existing systems
  • Was a scalable solution–they wanted to be able to easily add new functionality in the future

Overall, the town of Tillsonburg wanted a mobile app that could provide its residents with a single source of information on the go.

Info Grove submitted a proposal to the RFP and followed up with a custom demo. We always demo the Info Grove platform customized for each potential client so they don’t have to imagine how the app could for work their needs, but instead see it in action.

Tillsonburg was impressed with what the Info Grove platform offered and we were awarded the contract. We went to work customizing the app to match the look and feel of the Tillsonburg website and pulled in the modules needed to satisfy the requirements the town was looking for. We also trained their staff on how to use our easy to use content management system (CMS) to update content and make changes as needed.

The town recently launched their new mobile app–it’s available on the AppStore and Google Play. Tillsonburg residents now have another reason to love their family-friendly town. The town now has a mobile app that can grow and evolve as they do.
