North Middlesex is a picturesque region located in southwestern Ontario, Canada with a population of about 6,500. It encompasses a collection of vibrant rural communities, including the towns of Parkhill, Ailsa Craig, and Kerwood, among others.
With its scenic landscapes, rich agricultural heritage, and friendly community atmosphere, North Middlesex offers a charming blend of natural beauty and small-town living. The area is known for its pretty countryside, with rolling hills, serene forests, and fertile farmlands that provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, and fishing. The community is also home to various local businesses, cultural events, and recreational facilities, making it an attractive place to live, work, and explore.
At the end of 2022, North Middlesex approached Info Grove about having a mobile app developed so they could better engage the residents of their picturesque community. North Middlesex had come across the mobile app Info Grove had developed for the City of Arnprior and wanted to create something similar for their own municipality.
The Challenge?
North Middlesex had budget they wanted to use before the end of the year and that meant really tight timelines for having the app developed.
Fortunately, Info Grove has a streamlined app development process so that we can help our clients go from app conception to deployment in under six weeks. It also helps that we have extensive experience working with municipalities just like North Middlesex, so we are familiar with the requirements and expectations typical of municipalities and towns looking to build their mobile app.
The team at North Middlesex was sold on the Info Grove platform after our demonstration of its capabilities. They could see that the platform was well designed for their needs as a municipality–it could meet their need for providing information to residents such as news, different locations of interest, billing and payments, transit updates and more and could be developed within the timeframe they needed it. As we typically do during our demonstrations, we used actual content from the North Middlesex website added to the demonstration app, which really helps our potential clients envision how the Info Grove platform can work for them.
We were able to move very quickly into the first phases of the development process to ensure that we meet the deadline, which was very important to the client.
On-time and within budget, the Info Grove team was able to deliver a mobile app to North Middlesex that allows their residents to easily connect with the municipality and access important information quickly. Residents can opt-in to receive notifications on important emergency alerts, news updates, events, burn bans and job postings. They can also report an issue easily and quickly directly from their devices, and find information and locations for parks, facilities and businesses.
The app also includes contact information for staff and council and upcoming council meetings and agenda items.
If you’re looking for a mobile app for your municipality and don’t want to wait months to see it go live, book a call with the Info Grove team to learn more about how we can help you launch within a few weeks.
