Keeping a mobile app up-to-date is critical if you want users to engage with it. Apps that aren’t regularly updated won’t function properly, will crash, and will become sluggish over time. If this happens, people often stop using it and become disengaged with your organization.
To avoid this from happening, you’ll want to look for an easy mobile app option before you embark on this type of project.
This problem is why Info Grove exists. When clients work with us, we handle updating the app itself, and we’ve also made our platform as easy as possible for our customers to update the content on their app themselves.
Android or Apple Update
For example, whenever Android or Apple update their operating systems we make sure that our client’s apps are also updated in a timely manner so that they properly function. This requires us to create a new build for our customer’s apps. Once we’ve done this, we release the updated version onto Google Play and the App Store. This often happens at least once a year and is designed to give users access to the app’s latest features and improve security and stability.
For people that have already downloaded our apps, the update will generally automatically happen and have little impact on them. The only thing they will likely notice is that the app has a few more features and will likely be easier to use.
From time to time we also have to update Info Grove’s mobile platform. Whenever we do this we also have to create a new build for each of our client’s apps and then release them sequentially onto Google Play and the App Store.
We do this about once a year to provide new features or update/enhance existing modules. It usually takes about two weeks to update all of our clients’ apps; however, users are not impacted when we do this.
Your Content Update
When it comes to updating the content on the app itself, our platform makes it easy for our customers to do it themselves.
Customers can do this by going into their content management system and directly changing and updating any of the content they want on their app. They also have the ability to add new modules or reorganize them. Once a customer has made changes the app automatically updates and doesn’t require any further action.
This helps our customers to keep their apps dynamic, relevant, and up-to-date, which is critical to keeping their users engaged.
The only time that we get directly involved in updating the content on a customer’s app is when they want to rebrand their app or use a new logo. This requires us to physically update the app itself because the branding of each app we create is inherent to the build.
If for whatever reason our customers still run into trouble updating their app or need a refresher, we offer additional tech support depending on the package they have selected.
If you are a municipality, union, or association that is looking for an engaging, easy-to-use app that requires little effort to keep up-to-date please contact us to learn more. Our robust platform, which includes 35+ modules, makes it easy for organizations to add content on their own while we take care of the rest.
