The City of Inkster is located in Wayne County in the state of Michigan about 14 miles (23km) southwest of downtown Detroit and has a population of 26,088 (2020 Census). The city recently launched the City of Inkster mobile app.
Inkster approached 14 Oranges in 2024 looking for a better way to engage its citizens and simplify how citizens were able to pay for their bills, look for job openings at the city, as well as more easily notify citizens during urgent situations.
Working closely with the Info Grove team, the City of Inkster app was created over a few months in 2024.
The mobile app allows citizens to:
- Pay for their bills online.
- Search for jobs.
- Be notified about emergencies or other important news.
- Stay involved with community activities and city happenings.
- Locate and learn about city parks and amenities.
- Stay updated on city council meetings and commissions.
- Find resources and programs for senior citizens.
- View photos of the city and events.
- Easily reach out to city officials.
Furthermore, since the app is powered by the Info Grove Content Management System (CMS), the staff at the city are able to update the content and features of the app with ease at their own leisure. Some of the features are even synchronized automatically with existing city CMS systems making the up keep even simpler.
The app is free and is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
